Understanding and Minimizing Your HMI/SCADA System Security Gaps

Understanding and minimizing the security gaps in your HMI/SCADA system can be a challenge due to complex, multi-layered technologies. This white paper describes where vulnerabilities within an HMI/SCADA system may lie, and how companies can take proactive steps to address susceptible areas such as the software technology and communications elements through security-based software capabilities to protect their systems.

In August we announced that GE and FANUC decided to dissolve our joint venture and continue our operations independently. Both companies believe this is the right course and the right time to make this change. We are looking forward to starting a friendly but independent next chapter for our businesses.

As we stated in our announcement, once the transaction closes GE will continue its operations under the name GE Intelligent Platforms and include the software, embedded systems and control systems businesses globally, as well as services for the Americas CNC portfolio.

We at GE are very excited to take this next step as a business. We are confident that this will let us serve you better as a result of the greater focus it places on our core business. Over the past few years, General Electric has demonstrated its commitment to the industries we serve through continued investment in this business. The results of those investments are very clearly displayed in our vibrant new embedded systems business, dozens of new industrial software products like Proficy Workflow and many enhancements to our HMI/SCADA suite, as well as in our control systems solutions with products including high availability, safety systems, process control, and motion control.
