  • Lightweight-less than 9 pounds (4.08 kg)
  • Modified COTS RCOM03 conduction cooled chassis
  • 3u cPCI Single Board Computer
  • 1553-PMC2-CC Module
  • High Speed Serial Module
  • Digital I/O Module BOSTON, Mass., Embedded Systems Conference, September 16, 2003 – Today SBS Technologies® (Nasdaq: SBSE), a leading provider of embedded computing technology for defense and aerospace applications, announces the AMC-cPCI-3000, an advanced 3U CompactPCI ruggedized computing platform for flight management/mission computing, display processing, and information management applications. This flight qualified COTS computer system is suited for a variety of avionics, vetronics, navtronics and space programs where time to market is critical. "The AMC-cPCI-3000 computer is a leading-edge, flexible and rugged processing computing platform that can be readily configured to meet the general purpose processing, I/O, video, and graphics processing needs for a variety of military applications. It has been tested, qualified and flown in some of the most extreme environmental conditions. Because of its re-configurability and robust design, the AMC-cPCI-3000 computer offers customers a reliable, cost-effective, high performance solution that meets mission critical reliability requirements," said Frank Willis Vice President of Government Business Development. This system was built on open systems architecture to allow for technology insertion. It leverages SBS' COTS products, conforms to open standards, and utilizes RTOS operating system software. The AMC-cPCI-3000 comes configured with an off-the-shelf power supply, a ruggedized 3U cPCI PowerPC-based RL4 or CM4 Single Board Computer (SBC) running up to 500 MHz, and includes Fast Ethernet, four serial ports, parallel I/O, Build in Test (BIT), VxWorks or Green Hills Integrity Operating Systems support. The standard configuration also includes a dual channel 1553 PMC, high speed serial card, Digital I/O module with eight channels of Opto-Coupled Discrete inputs, eight channels of Opto-Coupled discrete outputs, and 16 channels of general purpose bi-directional discretes that can be programmed individually as outputs or inputs. For added reliability, SBS utilizes a CompactPCI transition module instead of a traditional wiring harness between the front panel and the backplane. At 3.5" H, 10.75" W and 12.8" L, the AMC-cPCI is well suited for integration into tight spaces that typify rugged environments. External fins provide additional heat sinking capability, allowing the system to take full advantage of surrounding airflow. SBS can customize the design of the AMC-cPCI-3000 to meet specific needs and price ranges. Price and Availability
The AMC-cPCI-3000 is available now and pricing starts at US $73,000. About SBS Technologies, Inc.
