SBS Technologies, Inc., Telemetry and Communications Products announces the availability of the Model 4437-P2. The 4437-P2 is a complete, single-slot, multi-mode digital modulator for the ISA bus. Four different modulation schemes are supported and can be used individually, or in concert with one another to produce a more complex composite signal. Modulation formats supported by the 4437-P2 include: Linear PM, BPSK, and QPSK. A typical application for the Model 4437-P2 can involve producing a composite signal with linear phase modulation of the main carrier, and a BPSK (or QPSK) modulated subcarrier that simulates a complex modern satellite downlink. In this scenario, modulation data may be input from an external source, such as a PCM simulator or Command Generator or from an on-board pseudo random data generator that can provide a continuous PN data stream for bit error rate testing. The 4437-P2 supports all standard IRIG PCM code formats including NRZ-L/M/S, Bi-Phase-L/M/S, Differential Miller-M/S, Miller-Squared, RZ, RNRZ-L. The output power level of the 4437-P2 is programmable over the range from 0 to -42 dBm in increments of 1dB. These features, coupled with an input port for externally generated noise, allows the 4437-P2 to replicate real world reception conditions such as signal fades, Doppler Shift, etc. Two separate modulated carrier outputs (50 - 90 MHz and a 2nd user specified output, range 110 - 400 MHz) are provided along with an external 10 MHz reference clock input to synchronize the 4437-P with other test components.
