SBS Technologies, Inc., Modular I/O (formerly SBS GreenSpring Modular I/O) introduces PMC-UL-GPIO, a uniquely designed PMC module that combines 16 channels of analog I/O and 16 channels of digital I/O into a single-wide PMC module. It has eight channels of 12-bit analog input running at up to 100 Ksamples/sec sampling rate, eight channels of 12-bit analog output at up to 100 Ksamples/sec conversion rate and sixteen general purpose buffered digital I/O lines with interrupt capability. PMC-UL-GPIO is designed for industrial data acquisition applications that require a mix of analog input, analog output and digital TTL I/O in a PowerPC or Pentium-based VME single-board computer. "PMC-UL-GPIO offers high-performance, multifunction capabilities that other PMC modules on the market today don't," explains Chris Thompson, General Manager, SBS Technologies, Inc., Modular I/O. "The productís mix of analog and digital I/O capabilities are ideal for applications such as industrial data acquisition and military test stations that require dual functionality on a single module." Price and Availability
PMC-UL-GPIO is priced at $735 for quantities of 400 and is available for immediate shipment. An optional VxWorks driver is available for $400 with royalty-free source code. Product Features
PMC-UL-GPIO offers eight analog input channels served by one ADC with a built-in multiplexer. The ADC can run continuously or under software, timer or external control. The eight analog output channels are served by two single-chip quad DACs. The DACs can also run continuously or under software, timer, or external control. The ADC and DAC converters operate independently and in one of two modes: Continuous or Single-Shot. Two additional modes are supported for the ADC: All Channels and Channel Subset. In all channel mode, on-board logic automatically controls the ADC converter and multiplexer to convert all eight channels as fast as possible. Channel Subset mode allows software control over the ADC multiplexer and converts only a single channel. Either mode can be used with Continuous or Single-Shot modes.
