SBS Technologies, Inc., Industrial Computers announces the Model CP6908, an improved and enhanced version of the Model CP8000 industrial rackmount CompactPCI® enclosure. The CP6908 is a cost-effective, highly reliable and customizable systems enclosure ideal for a variety of applications such as telecommunications, medical instrumentation and wireless communications. "The CP6908 was specifically designed for telecom applications," said Jeff Jones, General Manager, SBS Technologies, Inc., Industrial Computers. "It is a highly reliable, redundant systems enclosure easily customized for specific telecom OEMs. We're committed to providing standard and custom CompactPCI configurations, all with the same high quality and design expertise as our PC enclosures. Price and Availability The Model CP6908 (17.25"W x 12.0"D x 15.719"H) is priced from $2,995 (list) and is available for delivery in two weeks. Features The 9U high enclosure provides for a standard 8-slot CompactPCI backplane or a telephony H.110 backplane for 6U cards. A wide spectrum of plug-in CompactPCI CPU cards utilizing the PowerPC™ or the Intel&61666; processor are easily integrated into the enclosure. The standard enclosure comes with dual 350W redundant hot-swappable power supplies. This power supply allows the system to continue operation if one of the supplies malfunctions. The working power supply assumes the full system's load while the faulty supply is being replaced. Power supply options include pluggable CompactPCI power supplies or N+1 power supplies. Up to five 5.25" or 3.5" front accessible, horizontal shock-mounted drive bays are located behind the front panel door.
