SBS Technologies, Inc., Industrial and Military Computers announces the Model MAI-5155, a full seam welded aluminum COTS enclosure. The MAI-5155 is a rugged VME / CompactPCI 1 1/2 Long, Tall ATR enclosure that can be used in a wide variety of applications where the environmental extremes of shock, vibration, EMC, temperature, and humidity are a concern. It has been specifically designed for aircraft and mobile applications. The Model MAI-5155 enclosure is capable of housing up to 15 6U VME64/64X slots or multiple 3U/6U CompactPCI backplanes with single or dual 500 Watt PFC, N+1 power supplies. Peripherals may be added with a reduction in slot count. The ATR enclosure is designed to be externally isolated on an SBS supplied ARINC style shock/vibration platform in order to meet military-grade aircraft shock, vibration and launch standards. This isolation is accomplished by utilizing industry standard aircraft-grade cup-mount style isolators. The enclosure operates, without derating, from -20&402;C to +50&402;C and from 92-264 VAC, 47-440Hz. It is equipped with a single 500 Watt power supply, front and rear handles, all power wiring, 55&402; C cutoff thermostats, honeycomb air vents, elapsed time indicator, voltage indicators, and a TEMPEST level AC input filter. A DC input option is available as are custom front and rear I/O panels, I/O connectors and wiring, custom input and I/O filtering, special paint/silkscreens, conformal coatings, and full turnkey systems integration and test. The enclosure can be easily customized to a user's specific requirements. The MAI-5155 is designed to meet MIL-STD-461D, MIL-STD-810E for aircraft, MIL-STD-5400, and DO-160D.
