SBS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBSE), today announced the Model CP61016 rackmount 10U CompactPCI® systems enclosure for 6U CompactPCI cards. Its sturdy, modular design allows the system to fit easily in a 19&8243; or 23&8243; RETMA rack. The enclosure comes fully wired and integrated with either a 16-slot standard or H.110 telephony CompactPCI backplane, N+1 350 watt hot-swap pluggable power supplies (AC or DC input), state-of-the-art reverse impeller blower cooling and a front-operator control panel display. Standard options include an integrated health monitoring system and an extra fan tray below the card cage to ensure airflow in development environments. Model CP61016 is a reliable, flexible and scalable enclosure suitable for a variety of high-availability applications such as data or telecommunications, data acquisition, and medical instrumentation. It is easily customized for specific, unique environments or applications. Advanced Cooling System Features The advanced cooling system within the CP61016 provides continuous airflow throughout the system thereby allowing up to 1000 watts of heat dissipation. The filtered, forced-air cooling is provided with two hot-swap reverse impeller fans located in the top of the unit. Air enters the enclosure through the front of the assembly while the reverse impeller blowers pull the air up across the card cage and exhaust out the rear of the unit. In the event of a blower failure, the design of the enclosure ensures airflow across the entire card chamber. Either blower can be removed while the system is operating for repair or maintenance. A removable, washable filter is mounted directly behind the air-entry panel to block any dust particles from entering and damaging the system.
