SBS Technologies Announces ABI-3910 – Flexible, Single-Channel 3910 Interface for High-Speed Simulation, Test, Data Acquisition, and Avionics Applications
6U VME motherboard with PowerPC single board computer
** High-speed and low-speed 3910 bus interfaces on one PMC
** Event monitoring
** DMA capability
SBS Technologies (Nasdaq: SBSE), a leading provider of embedded computing technology, today introduced the ABI-3910, a high-performance 6U VME interface card with a PowerPC-based motherboard and one single-channel STANAG 3910 PMC daughterboard. Designed for simulation, test, data acquisition, and avionics applications that require very fast data transfers, the 3910 motherboard uses the latest PowerPC technology under the VxWorks operating system. The ABI-3910 can be configured as a system controller, eliminating the need for an additional controller in some systems.
Low- and high-speed 3910 bus interfaces provided on the PMC are based on an advanced high-speed DSP, programmable logic, and dual port RAM. Up to 56 MB memory is provided for user data structures. Eight external trigger signals are available from the front panel or VME P2 connector.
ABI-3910 provides powerful capabilities for definition of Events, conditions such as input external triggers that can be used to generate external triggers, and start or stop BC lists, RT simulation and sequential monitoring. Events can also generate VME interrupt signals.
"We engineered the ABI-3910 to meet the rigorous performance, quality and reliability requirements demanded by our customers," said Clarence Peckham, President of the SBS Technologies Commercial and Government Groups. "The ABI-3910's rich set of capabilities includes features such as sophisticated Event Monitoring and a powerful DMA capability that are not available with competitive products."
Complimentary software drivers for most operating systems, and the Integrated Avionics Library with source code are provided with the interface.
