SBS Micro Alliance announces the Model 910, a rugged, 10-slot Intel Pentium computer system designed for transportable or benchtop applications where there is a need for a full function computer system with maximum expansion slots. The system is ideal for remote data collection, testing and verification applications.

The Model 910 is available with a standard 10.4' or an optional 12.1' active matrix LCD color display, which is protected by a Lexan shield. It includes a 200 MHz MMX Pentium-based plug in processor card with 16MB of RAM. The system can be upgraded to 333 MHz with up to 128MB of RAM or with a Pentium Pro processor. Each system comes with Windows software. The Model 910 is equipped with a 10-slot passive backplane. Unlike a standard notebook computer, it provides 7 ISA and 2 PCI user expansion slots. Optionally, it is available with 2 ISA and 3 full length PCI slots. It includes two 3.5' drive bays that are populated with a 1.44MB floppy and 2.0GB hard drive. An extra 5.25' drive bay for a CD-ROM or other drive expansion is standard. The video controller card has an output for connecting to an external 1024 x 768 CRT monitor. Both serial and parallel ports are mounted on a card slot cover. Side hinged doors provide both protection and drive accessibility and the rear panel is easily removed for card access. The plug-in CPU card allows for easy field service and upgrading. Drives are mounted in a removable service tray. An integral 86-key keyboard and trackball are standard. The system is powered by a 300 watt power supply (115/230 VAC) to handle high output cards. A 4.7' high-speed, 90 CFM fan with removable filter provides ample card cooling and air filtering. All drive bays and electronics are shock and vibration protected. An adjustable card hold-down bar keeps all size XT and PC/AT cards in place under vibration and transit conditions.
