SBS Micro Alliance announces the introduction of its new rackmount workstation enclosure, the Model 814WS. The ruggedized enclosure includes a built-in 14' color CRT display, ISA or PCI/ISA dual bus passive backplane, up to three drive bays, and is CE certified. "Equipped with a NEMA 12 front panel and operating shock tested to 20Gs, this workstation enclosure is ideally suited for factory automation, process control, and shipboard data collection applications," said Ed Larson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Its steel metal construction makes it suitable for severe industrial environments. The enclosure has been designed for easy service and installation." Price and Availability
The Model 814WS (17'W x 21.1'D x 12.25'H) is priced from $2,995.00 (list) and is available immediately for delivery in two to three weeks. Features
The Model 814WS is equipped with a 7-slot ISA passive backplane, but can also accommodate PCI/ISA backplanes with 2 or 3 PCI slots. The enclosure also contains a 300W 115/230 VAC (100K hour rated) power supply (24/48 VDC power supplies are optional). Shock mounted peripheral bays support up to three 3.5' disk drives, two of which are easily accessed through a front panel door. One internal 3.5' drive bay can be accessed through the rear panel. Positive pressure cooling is provided by three high efficiency, ball bearing fans with a total of 100 CFM. The front panel has a power and reset switch as well as power-on and hard drive LED displays with a keyboard port. The monitor controls are also located behind the front panel door. The removable fan air filters are positioned along both sides of the enclosure. The rear panel contains an additional keyboard port and room for other I/O connectors. The rugged all metal enclosure provides EMI/RFI shielding and line transient protection. A card hold-down bracket adds to the shock dampening attributes of the enclosure. About SBS Micro Alliance
