SBS GreenSpring Modular I/O today announced the availability and shipment of the IP-UL-ADC40 module, a high density data acquisition IndustryPack&8482; mezzanine board for VME, PCI, CompactPCI, ISA, STD32, PC/104 and other embedded systems. IP-UL-ADC40 features 40 analog to digital channels and each channel has 12 bits of resolution and up to 100 Ksamples/sec conversion rate. "The IP-UL-ADC40 is ideal for very high density data acquisition applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation and test and measurement systems," explains Chris Thompson, General Manager of SBS GreenSpring Modular I/O. The IP-UL-ADC40 features 40 analog to digital channels with 12 bits of resolution per channel. In a 6U Eurocard slot, up to 160 channels of A/D are available by plugging four IP-UL-ADC40 modules into a quad IndustryPack carrier board. The 40 channels are provided by five A/D converters, multiplexed in groups of eight channels. The A/D converters can run continuously or under software, timer or external control. The IP-UL-ADC40 has two conversion modes to satisfy different data acquisition timing requirements - continuous, in which selected channels are automatically retriggered after completion of each conversion, or single-shot, in which each selected channel performs one single conversion by an external trigger. External triggers can be initiated by three real time controls: software command, on-board timers and strobe signals. An on-board 16 Kbit EEPROM stores calibration data for each channel and each range. This memory is non-volatile and user-programmable. About SBS GreenSpring Modular I/O
