SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V&8226;I Computer) announces the availability of Snowden, a CompactPCI board with all I/O routed off the J3/J5 connectors. With 100% of it's I/O routed off the backplane, Snowden is ideal for telecom, datacom, and many ATR-based applications. "There are three keys to embedded hardware," said Bret Farnum, Director of Sales for SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V&8226;I Computer). "The first is RTOS support, the second is I/O, and the third is I/O routing. Snowden provides all three. Also, since Snowden is the only 6U CompactPCI board targeting a 603e processor, it is an excellent development platform for a variety of applications." Price and Availability
Snowden is currently available and priced at $2,995.00. For high volume applications, pricing is below $1,900.00. Custom versions of Snowden are also available, or, additional I/O can be targeted with a variety of PMC modules. Features
Snowden is configured with a 200MHz PowerPC 603e or a 266MHz PowerPC 740 processor. It has 512 KB L2 cache, 64 MB SDRAM (parity option), 16MB IDE SanDisk Flash, ethernet, one RS-232 serial port and one RS-422 serial port, keyboard, mouse and a single PMC module site. Coupled with several real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Snowden is a cost-effective CompactPCI solution. About SBS Embedded Computers (formerly V&8226;I Computer)
