SBS Berg Telemetry Systems Introduces the Model 4422-cPCI Telemetry Module

SBS Berg Telemetry Systems announces the Model 4422-cPCI, a complete system level telemetry module for the cPCI bus. It features an optional bit synchronizer, PCM decommutator, IRIG time code reader, and dynamic PCM simulator. By implementing state-of-the-art logic array techniques, the PCM decommutator and PCM simulator can reside in a single 6U cPCI card slot. The module supports all of the functions required for telemetry data acquisition for input data streams at rates up to 20 Mbps.

The optional bit synchronizer accepts all PCM codes and includes a tape driver output. The decommutator supports variable frame and word length formats. The simulator features dynamic and unique data word generation and can operate autonomously. The time code reader accepts IRIG (A or B) time codes and can be programmed to utilize system time in the absence of an IRG time source. The Model 4422-cPCI has a DMA engine to facilitate high-speed data transfers across the cPCI bus using dedicated, on-board memory for buffer addresses. Setup parameters for each function of the Model 4422-cPCI are programmed via the PCI bus. Readback (status) is available over the same bus in a pollable status word. The Model 4422-cPCI is fully tunable at +5V @ 1000ma+10ma/Mbps, +-12v @ 60ma. Both transmitted and received data can be TTL or RS-422 levels. The module features FCC, SFID or URC subframe methods. The Model 4422-cPCI can be used with T/MATE software, third-party products, or custom software packages. Plug-in Model 4400-TM or 4400-TF tunable bit synchronizer module daughter cards can be added optionally to provide a complete, one-card telemetry data acquisition system.
