Radstone Technology Given the Go-Ahead to Build New Headquarters
Radstone Technology PLC, which announced in November 2002 the sale of its existing headquarters and manufacturing facility site in Water Lane Towcester, has been granted planning permission to build the firm’s new headquarters within the town’s Tove Valley development area. Permission for the purpose-built facilities was given to the site developers, by South Northants Council at today’s Planning Committee Meeting. Tove Valley is being developed by Northampton-based Hampton Brook Ltd. Radstone’s plans include a new office, development laboratory and product commissioning facilities on a 6 acre portion of the 13.4 acre site. Approximately 225 employees will be based at Tove Valley, including the core of the Group’s highly-skilled engineering and technology workforce. Careful consideration has been given to the visual impact of the buildings, which will make extensive use of traditional, local materials. There will also be substantial landscaping and additional planting of semi-mature trees within the parking areas. Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Charles Paterson, Group Managing Director, said: “I am very pleased with today’s result. Radstone can now plan for its future growth within modern laboratory and manufacturing facilities, which will match those of the best of our international competitors. In particular, we welcome the opportunity this development provides to improve our responsiveness to our customers by streamlining and improving the layout of our manufacturing operations here in Towcester.” Work on the Tove Valley site will begin July 21st 2003.
