Radstone Technology Awarded Five-Year Contract Extension
Radstone Technology the world’s leading independent supplier of high-performance, embedded computer products for defense and aerospace applications has been awarded a contract extension by Lockheed Martin. The new $9 million agreement confirms Radstone’s involvement in the MH-60 program for the next five years. MH-60R is the US Navy’s main tactical and defensive strike helicopter. The integrated ship-air system performs a variety of missions, including anti-surface warfare and undersea warfare. Radstone have been involved with the upgrade of the US Navy’s MH-60R since 1999. The contract extension enables Lockheed Martin to take advantage of Radstone’s new generation display products and rugged commercial off-the-shelf PowerPC Processors. Radstone’s advanced processors and display capabilities will be integrated aboard the helicopter enabling the ship to extend its capabilities beyond the classic line-of-sight limitations for surface threats, and the distance limitations for acoustic detection, prosecution and attack of underwater threats. “We look forward to furthering our relationship with Radstone Technology to provide the US Navy with its newest generation of multi-mission helicopters," said Paul Monseur, director, Multi-Mission Helicopter Programs at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego. Peter Cavill; Radstone’s Managing Director added; “Radstone has established a strong partnership with Lockheed Martin’s engineering team during the current phase of the MH-60 program. The success of this partnership was a major contribution to Radstone’s selection as the supplier of next generation technology.” The MH-60R project, a $10 billion dollar long-range program, is the US Navy’s solution to a deficiency in surface fleet antisubmarine warfare. The MH-60 is the centerpiece of the U.S. Navy’s helicopter master plan designed to provide multi-mission surface and subsurface detection and defense for the US naval fleet.
