Radstone Processors, PMCs Selected By Goodrich Corporation For Poland Peace Sky F-16 Reconnaissance Program
“Performance, reliability, customer support” Demonstrating once again that its processors and PMCs are the choice of the world’s leading defense contractors, Radstone Embedded Computing today announced that its PowerXtreme PPC7D single board computer, PMCGA3 graphics accelerator PMC and PMCF2 CompactFlash PMC had been selected by Goodrich Corporation’s (NYSE: GR) Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems team for inclusion in the Poland Peace Sky F-16 Reconnaissance program. Radstone is the world’s leading independent supplier of high-performance, embedded computer products for defense and aerospace applications. “Radstone’s reputation for technical excellence and outstanding customer support is admired throughout the industry,” said Dr. John Stacy, Director of Engineering for Goodrich’s Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems team. “Not only will they bring the levels of product performance and reliability that we’re looking for, but also experience and expertise that will add real value to the program. We’re looking forward to working with the Radstone team.” As part of this Foreign Military Sale (FMS), Goodrich will be providing its state of the art reconnaissance pod to the Polish Air and Air Defense Forces. The podded reconnaissance system features the Goodrich DB-110 dual band, electro-optical / infrared LOROP (Long Range Oblique Photography) sensor. This sensor is capable of imaging targets at 30,000 feet at a stand-off distance of 50 nautical miles. The system will be used to support NATO forces providing both Bomb Damage Assessment (BDA) and Time-Critical-Targeting capability (TCT). The Radstone equipment will be used in the DB-110 avionics to manage the reconnaissance systems and perform sensor control functions. “We’re delighted to have been selected by Goodrich for this prestigious, high profile program,” said Peter Cavill, President of Radstone Embedded Computing. “Goodrich has demonstrated considerable confidence not only in our products, but the supporting infrastructure we put behind our products, and we look forward to justifying that confidence. The relationships we have built with the Goodrich team are excellent, and will form the basis of what we believe will be a highly successful co-operative effort.” About Goodrich Corporation Goodrich Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading global supplier of systems and services to the aerospace and defense industry.
