Kamloops (MEMO 2013)

Sunday, September 29, 2013 (All day) to Tuesday, October 1, 2013 (All day)

Kamloops, BC, Canada, Canada

Kamloops is also known as the Maintenance Engineering & Mine Operators Conference (MEMO 2013).

MEMO 2013  will build on the successes of previous conferences, with an all-encompassing technical program that includes a plenary, technical sessions, workshops, and field trips, all focused on maintenance and reliability, mine and process operations, and responsible mining initiatives.

GE will be hosting a technical session on Maintenance and Reliability-Operations and Maintenance Best Practices  on Tuesday, October 1, from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the Theatre.

Tom Toronto, GE Intelligent Platforms, will be speaking from 10:30-11 am, paper 2282.

Success stories in process and asset optimization in the mining industry

In this presentation, Tom will discuss how several mining companies have successfully been using process and asset optimization techniques to increase throughput and reliability. They are doing so while simultaneously minimizing energy costs and optimizing their maintenance activities. This presentation will answer the question: How do you drive analysis and decisions to mitigate risks and still achieve the operating improvement you need? Examples will show how mining companies increased asset availability by up to 10%, decreased flow variability through a flotation circuit by 50%, and increased throughput in a milling circuit by 10%.
