A number of our team (including Jeff Immelt, GE CEO) recently attended Dreamforce '13 in San Francisco, as has become core to our business in the past few years . As you will read in the article, Marc was referring to Jeff’s use of Salesforce1—their new technology bringing together a social, mobile and cloud customer platform.

In today’s “real-time” world of mobility and instant data, having critical information to make an empowered decision on the spot is the difference between competing and winning. I am seeing this drive the demand from the C-level for real-time data, in the context they require, aggregated from multiple sources, to help them run the business.

In manufacturing, an important element to that equation is the “where is my product now,” “when will it be shipping,” and “what potential issues could impact that?” That’s the role Proficy Mobile plays. It aggregates key industrial data, in a mobile app, that when used with other sales and marketing tools such as, provide the whole supply chain picture, from raw materials through shelf fulfillment.
