GE Intelligent Platforms at PACK EXPO 2013…… Really???

This week I have been called by two members of the press and asked that very question—yes Pat and Jim, I am talking about you. To be honest, the question is valid as we have attended PACK EXPO the past four years, but this is the first year we have registered as exhibitors.

The simple answer is this year we have new compelling technology to share with the people attending and other exhibitors that involves adoption of Industrial Internet technology by CPG manufacturers and OEMs.

So, to take a step back, I am sure many of you have seen the GE commercials for the Industrial Internet; the one with Agent Smith of the Matrix seems to be the most memorable.

The Industrial Internet comprises three elements: Intelligent Machines, Advanced Analytics, and People at Work. It has been developed by GE to solve its manufacturing and asset maintenance challenges in Healthcare, Energy, Aviation, and Transportation.

The Intelligent Platforms division of GE provides the technology that enables the Industrial Internet for manufacturing, and this year we have released new products for intelligent machine control, big data & analytics, and operator mobility—the three pillars of the Industrial Internet.

At PACK EXPO, we will explain more around this technology and how we have added industry content to create a Food Safety System for Food and Beverage manufacturers and machine OEMs.

Come see us on the Innovation Stage to discuss our Industrial Internet strategy or at the Food Safety Resource Center (Booth 7332) to discuss our new food safety system. I do have a few free registration passes (first come, first served)—just email me if you’re interested in coming to see us at the show.
